Accompanist and vocal coach Thomas Getty is the resident coach and Director of OOTJ’s Tyler Young Artist Program. He has also been a regular music staff member at Central City Opera in Colorado since 1995, accompanying audition classes for Artistic Director Emeritus John Moriarty, movement classes, opera scenes, preparing main stage productions, music directing numerous productions including the chamber operas The Face On The Barroom Floor, Signor Deluso and The Medium, and providing surtitles for main stage performances. He was honored in 2010 with the Adelaide Bishop Award for his service to the company. As an adjunct faculty member of Kean University in New Jersey, he provided music direction and coaching for opera workshop classes and various musical productions by the Kean University Theater Department. He is the former principal coach of Utah Opera and former Associate Artistic Director of Anchorage Opera.
