Sean Stanton


Baritone Sean Stanton returns to Opera on the James, having performed as Ike in Bucci’s Sweet Betsy from Pike and Sam in Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti as part of the American Opera Project last season. Other opera credits include Publio in Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito for Ignite Opera, Curio in Handel’s Giulio Cesare for Handel Week Festival in Oak Park, Illinois, Horace Tabor in Moore’s The Ballad of Baby Doe for North Park Opera, and Papageno in Mozart’s The Magic Flute for American Chamber Opera. He has received multiple awards from the National Association of Teachers of Singing (Chicago), Classical Singer Competition, American Opera Society, and Bel Canto Foundation, amongst others.  Sean received his Master and Bachelor degrees in Vocal Performance from North Park University, and is a member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus.
