Hansel and Gretel is a spellbinding adaptation of the Grimm brothers’ fairy tale that captivates you and leaves you hungry for more. Let your imagination roam free as you enter Ilsenstein Forest, the world of Hansel and Gretel, two children abandoned in the wilderness and left to face an evil witch who lures them in with her delectable dwelling and sugar-coated words. But will it be a feast or famine for the witch as the children prove themselves too clever for her tricks and spells? Engelbert Humperdinck creates an intensely moving musical score that rivals the greatest music of his famous teacher, Richard Wagner, and inspires faith in children of all ages. Featuring the Dancers of Virginia School of the Arts and the Children of Cantate Chorus.
