KYLE ALBERTSON

American Baritone Kyle Albertson is renowned for his powerful and versatile voice. Recently, he made his Austin Lyric Opera debut as Count Monterone in Rigoletto. In 2008, Mr. Albertson finished his second year as a resident artist at Minnesota Opera. During his two year residency, he performed several roles including Count Ribbing in Un Ballo in Maschera, Capulet in Roméo et Juliette, Lindorf/Dr. Miracle in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro, and Nilikantha in Lakmé. This past summer, he performed the role of Antonio in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro at the prestigious Santa Fe Opera. In past summers, he has sung with the Merola Opera where he performed the role of Geronimo in Matrimonio Segreto, and with Aspen Opera Theater Center where he has performed Escamillo in Carmen, Besso in Cavalli’s Giasone, and Harasta in The Cunning Little Vixen. Mr. Albertson also enjoys a strong relationship with Chicago Opera Theater, having performed Quince in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Henry Kissinger in Nixon in China. He was a National Semi-Finalist in the 2008 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Mr. Albertson is a student of Dr. Stephen King.
