A TRIBUTE TO MARION ANDERSON
February 25, 2007
Humbles Hall, Virginia University of Lynchburg
Baltimore artist Sabrina Coleman Clark brings research, stories and music from the life of the civil rights and opera pioneer who sang on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial at the invitation of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt after being shut out of Constitution Hall. Anderson was the first African-American to star at the Metropolitan Opera, and Coleman Clark brought all aspects of her career to life in our performance at Virginia University of Lynchburg.
