Jami Leonard, Soprano

Transcending genre, soprano Jami Leonard is a performer of Musical Theater, Opera, Jazz and Modern works. Leonard’s vocal work has been hailed as “… an excellent ambassador for the operatic tradition…” by

Leonard received her education from the IU Jacobs School of Music completing both her Bachelor and Master degrees in Vocal Performance where she studied under Patricia Wise. Favorite roles at IU include, Maria in West Side Story, Clara Johnson in The Light in the Piazza and Marguerite Gashet in Vincent.

This season, Jami joins the Danville Symphony Orchestra in concert as well as making her debut with Opera on the James as Nanetta in Falstaff. Performance highlights from 2016 include Anne Egerman in The Princeton Festival’s A Little Night Music, Servilia in La Clemenza di Tito and Oscar in Un Ballo in Maschera with New York Opera Forum. In 2015, she joined Maestra Eve Queler in concert performing Bel Canto Repertoire in both Massachusetts and New York City. She also appeared as the soprano soloist in Carmina Burana at Colby College.

Leonard is currently living and working in New York City.
