Brooke Larimer, Mezzo-Soprano

Mezzo-soprano Brooke Larimer is celebrated for her “convincing physical realization of character” (Boston Musical Intelligencer), “stunningly dramatic” performances (, and her “richly hued voice” (Pittsburgh in the Round). This season Brooke returns to Syracuse Opera as Mercédès in Carmen and as Flora in La traviata, debuts with Symphoria as alto soloist in Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott (BWV 80) conducted by Lawrence Loh, and returns to Opera on the James to sing Dorabella in Così fan tutte. Last season she appeared as a guest artist at Baldwin Wallce University, singing the role of Madame de Croissy in Dialogues of the Carmelites, as Filippyevna in Eugene Onegin with Syracuse Opera, and she reprised Mistress Quickly in Falstaff with Resonance Works | Pittsburgh. A native Vermonter, Brooke graduated from Vanderbilt University and The Boston Conservatory. She is co-host of the Indie Opera Podcast and co-founder of Boston Opera Collaborative.
