Opera on the James, celebrating its 5th Anniversary Season, is an OPERA America Level Four Professional Company in Lynchburg, Virginia.  The company was created by a group of city leaders and opera lovers to share the power and beauty of live opera with a wide range of community members. The Board of Directors of Opera on the James, and dedicated volunteers, are very active in the work of the company. The staff includes a full time Executive Director, Cecelia Schieve, and Craig Fields, Artistic Director and Lynne Weinmeister, Administrator. Opera on the James is a 501c3 public charity.
